Pistor invests 5.6 million francs in Chavornay distribution center

Wholesaler Pistor is investing 5.6 million Swiss francs to expand its distribution center in Chavornay, Switzerland. The investment aims to support a projected 20% increase in regional revenue, targeting 170 million francs within the next five years.

The expansion project, which has officially broken ground, will include the addition of six truck loading ramps with rail connections and 400 square meters of new logistics space. This development is expected to create six new driving positions in the medium term, adding to the existing 47 employees at the Chavornay site.

Pistor supplies more than 1,300 customers in Western Switzerland, including bakeries, confectioneries, the gastronomy sector, and healthcare facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes. The company currently distributes over 20,000 tons of goods annually. Logistics operations involve transporting goods by train from the headquarters in Rothenburg to Chavornay, where they are then distributed via a fleet of trucks, which the company is progressively electrifying.
