A brown pit bull attacked four members of a visiting family as they unloaded groceries from their car at the intersection of Beach 62 Street and Thursby Avenue in the Arverne section of Queens, New York, on Monday night.
The victims included an 11‑year‑old boy (right thigh injury), a 16‑year‑old girl (neck, right thigh and left leg injuries), a 37‑year‑old man (left hand) and a 42‑year‑old woman (genital area). All were taken in stable condition to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, St. John's Episcopal Hospital South Shore, or other local hospitals. Police said no arrests have been made; the dog’s owner reportedly seized the animal and fled without offering assistance. The investigation remains ongoing.
