Pitbull attacks in Brazil kill a donkey and hospitalize a woman

A donkey that had lived with a family for 13 years on a farm in Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, near Florianópolis, was attacked by two pitbulls and later euthanized after sustaining severe injuries. Two other animals on the property were also wounded but survived. Police are investigating the incident and the owners of the dogs have been identified.

In a separate incident in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, a 53‑year‑old woman was severely bitten by an unleashed pitbull while returning from a market. She suffered serious wounds, including a ruptured vein, and was transferred to a hospital for treatment. Family members say the dog had previously roamed the streets without supervision and that they plan to file a police report after her discharge.
