Pitbull attacks injure mother and child in Divinópolis and amputate thumb of woman in Londrina

In Divinópolis, Minas Gerais, a 36-year-old woman and her 16-year-old son were attacked by a loose pitbull on Rua Padre Abel in the Paraíso neighbourhood on Sunday morning. Emergency teams from the regional SAMU responded, treated the victims on scene and transported them to a local urgent care centre. Both patients were released with non‑life‑threatening injuries, and the dog died during the incident.

In Londrina, Paraná, a 59-year-old woman suffered a severe injury when her own pitbull bit off the thumb of her right hand in the Jardim Tóquio district on Saturday night. She was taken by the SIATE trauma service to the University Hospital, where doctors determined that the thumb could not be reattached. She remains hospitalized for follow‑up care.
