Pitbull concert prompts major mobile network upgrade and traffic changes in Kaunas
The upcoming Pitbull concert at Kaunas' Darius and Girėnas Stadium is expected to draw tens of thousands of fans. To accommodate the surge in mobile data demand, Telia Lietuva has installed permanent infrastructure upgrades, increasing network capacity two‑ to three‑fold. The upgrades include sector‑specific micro‑cells and advanced beamforming antennas that focus coverage on high‑density areas of the stadium.
Kaunas city officials are also preparing extensive traffic measures. Parodos Street will be closed to private vehicles, with designated parking zones marked by "P" signs and additional parking areas near Tunelio Street, the railway station, and the Akropolis and Žalgiris arenas. Public transport routes will be increased, and extra night‑time services will run after the concert. Organisers advise attendees to use public transport and to follow the new traffic signage to avoid fines or vehicle removal.
