Pitești Philharmonic receives 1.44 million lei in new funding
The Pitești Philharmonic has received a new financial allocation of approximately 1.44 million lei from the Romanian Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration. This funding follows a previous allocation of over 2.54 million lei received earlier this year.
The government decision provides funds to 75 cultural institutions, including theaters, operas, and philharmonics, across 50 localities in 34 counties. These institutions operate under local authorities and do not receive direct state funding. The total amount allocated for these various institutions is over 142 million lei, sourced from 2% of income tax collected between June and August 2026.
Gabriel Niță, the manager of the Pitești Philharmonic, stated that this support confirms the national recognition of the institution's efforts to develop its cultural role and benefit the local community.
