Pitești police rescue infant trapped in vehicle on Republic Boulevard

On July 30, 2026, local police in Pitești responded to a call about a baby locked inside a car near the McDonald’s restaurant on Bulevardul Republicii. The vehicle’s doors had automatically locked due to a malfunction, preventing the parents from reaching the infant.

Officers summoned a specialist in vehicle door unlocking, who arrived quickly and opened the car in approximately 11 minutes. The child was unharmed despite the high summer temperatures inside the vehicle. Police used the incident to remind residents not to leave children unattended in cars, especially during hot weather, as interior temperatures can rise dangerously within minutes.
