Romania water services: Pitești crisis ends amid repairs in Constanța and Costești

Water utility services in several Romanian cities are undergoing significant changes due to quality improvements and infrastructure maintenance. In Pitești, authorities have announced that the water crisis involving Lacul Budeasa has ended. Recent analyses by Apele Române and DSP Argeș confirm that manganese concentrations have dropped below detectable limits and oxygen levels have normalized, making tap water potable again.

In Constanța, RAJA has implemented water supply interruptions to manage repairs and network rehabilitations. An emergency intervention was required on I. C. Brătianu Boulevard due to a major 800 mm diameter pipe failure, affecting multiple residential areas. Additionally, scheduled works for network modernization are set to impact various central streets, with residents advised to maintain water reserves.

In Costești, temporary water outages were scheduled for August 19 to facilitate the connection of a new water pipe to the existing network as part of a regional infrastructure modernization project.
