Pitigliano completes redevelopment of Alberto Manzi Open-Air Museum
The municipality of Pitigliano has announced the completion of extraordinary maintenance, safety, and redevelopment works at the Alberto Manzi Open-Air Archaeological Museum. The project involved an investment of approximately 50,000 euros, part of a larger 100,000 euro program funded by the Mountain Fund through the Unione dei Comuni Colline del Fiora.
Key improvements focused on the safety and accessibility of Parco Manzi. Essential works included water management to protect pathways and the complete maintenance of the park's bridge, which had not undergone significant intervention for over twenty years. Other improvements were made to the lower archaeological area, including the replacement of fencing, cleaning of the necropolis, repair of steps leading to the lower paths, and work on the hut's roof.
Mayor Giovanni Gentili stated that the investments were aimed at preserving the historical, archaeological, and environmental heritage of Pitigliano, ensuring the site remains a welcoming and safe location for visitors to explore the connection between nature and history.
