Pittsburgh Penguins face lineup shifts following Bryan Rust injury

The Pittsburgh Penguins will face significant roster adjustments following the news that forward Bryan Rust will be sidelined for a minimum of six weeks. Rust, who was placed on injured reserve due to an undisclosed lower-body injury sustained during a game against the Utah Mammoth, has been a key contributor this season with five points in seven games.

Head coach Dan Muse confirmed the extended absence, which is expected to keep Rust out until at least early December. His absence, combined with forward Ben Kindel being placed on injured reserve due to a vasovagal episode, has forced several changes to the team's line combinations.

To fill the void on the first line, Tommy Novak has been promoted to left wing to skate alongside Sidney Crosby, while Rickard Rakell takes over on the right wing. These shifts have triggered a cascade of changes throughout the lineup, including Hendrix Lapierre moving into a second-line center role and various adjustments to the third and fourth lines.
