Philadelphia Flyers suffer consecutive losses to Penguins and Devils

The Philadelphia Flyers have faced a difficult start to the season, suffering a 7-0 shutout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins followed by a 3-2 overtime defeat against the New Jersey Devils.

In the season opener, the Penguins dominated the Flyers, led by goals from Nick Robertson, Ville Koivunen, and Hendrix Lapierre. Penguins goaltender Arturs Silovs recorded a shutout, becoming only the fifth goalie in NHL history to record shutouts in consecutive season openers.

In their second game, the Flyers managed to secure their first point of the season despite falling to the Devils in overtime at the Prudential Center. While Rasmus Ristolainen and Travis Sanheim scored for Philadelphia, the Devils secured the win with goals from Dougie Hamilton, Luke Hughes, and Jack Hughes.
