Pittsburgh Pirates Activate Spencer Horwitz and Add Camilo Doval to Roster

The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated first baseman Spencer Horwitz from the 10‑day injured list after he missed time with a left hamstring strain and a concussion. In 74 games this season Horwitz posted a .280/.386/.455 slash line with 10 home runs and 33 RBIs.

The club also activated right‑hander Camilo Doval, acquired from the New York Yankees, who is 3‑1 with a 4.54 ERA and one save in 44 appearances this year. To clear roster spots, the Pirates optioned outfielder Billy Cook and reliever Isaac Mattson to Triple‑A Indianapolis. The moves come as the Pirates await the return of first baseman Ryan O'Hearn, who remains on the IL with a left quad strain, and continue to chase a Wild Card berth in the National League.
