Pittsburgh Pirates re-sign outfielder Kyler Fedko to two-year deal

The Pittsburgh Pirates have re-signed outfielder Kyler Fedko to a two-year minor league contract. Fedko, a 27-year-old native of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, previously made his MLB debut with the Minnesota Twins in June 2026.

The deal provides depth for the Pirates' outfield as Fedko recovers from significant knee surgery performed in August to repair a torn ACL, MCL, and LCL. Due to the injury, he is expected to spend a large portion of the 2027 season rehabbing, with a potential return to the big leagues in 2028.

This roster move comes amid a complex offseason for the Pirates. The club faces several major decisions, including the arbitration eligibility of ten players. Key impact players such as Paul Skenes, Oneil Cruz, Jared Jones, and Nick Gonzales are among those approaching arbitration, which will influence the team's future roster construction.
