Pittsburgh Steelers conclude training camp with quarterback rotation updates

The Pittsburgh Steelers have concluded their training camp at Saint Vincent College a day early due to weather conditions. Under head coach Mike McCarthy, the team has implemented a new operational tempo that includes earlier daily workouts and a reduction in on-field physicality compared to previous years.

In terms of roster developments, McCarthy announced a shift in the preseason quarterback rotation. For the upcoming second preseason game against the New York Jets, Will Howard is scheduled to start, followed by rookie Drew Allar. McCarthy noted that while he remains highly impressed with veteran Mason Rudolph’s command of the offense and experience, he intends to maximize opportunities for the younger quarterbacks.

Allar, a rookie from Penn State, has drawn significant attention following a strong preseason performance against the Green Bay Packers, where he recorded two passing touchdowns and a rushing score.
