Pittsburgh Steelers exploring wide receiver trades ahead of NFL deadline
The Pittsburgh Steelers are exploring the wide receiver market ahead of the NFL trade deadline on November 10. General manager Omar Khan has been inquiring about available veteran receivers following recent injuries to the roster.
During a 26-19 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Steelers relied heavily on DK Metcalf and rookie Germie Bernard, who each recorded 11 receptions. The team faced depth issues after placing Michael Pittman Jr. and Roman Wilson on injured reserve, while Ben Skowronek also missed the game due to a calf injury.
Head coach Mike McCarthy stated that while he believes in developing the players currently in the building, such as practice squad members Brandon Smith and Brandon Johnson, he is open to outside help if the right opportunities arise. The team's offensive production was notably concentrated, as no other receivers recorded targets during Aaron Rodgers' 49 pass attempts.
