Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line ranked No. 3 by PFF
The Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line has emerged as one of the top units in the NFL, currently ranked No. 3 by Pro Football Focus (PFF). Despite early season concerns, the unit has shown significant improvement under offensive line coach James Campen.
In a recent 16-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Paris, the Steelers rushed for 148 yards on 30 carries, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. Key contributors included Jaylen Warren, who rushed for 101 yards, and Rico Dowdle, who added 41 yards. Analysts have highlighted the interior strength of Zach Frazier and Mason McCormick, with former NFL center A. Q. Shipley suggesting Frazier may currently be the best center in the league.
While the unit is performing well overall, individual challenges remain. Troy Fautanu, transitioning to left tackle, faced difficulties during the game against the Saints, allowing two sacks and four pressures against Chase Young. However, PFF notes that the group remains strong, with only one starter, Brock Hoffman, holding a pass-blocking grade below 65.0.
