Pittsburgh Steelers place Derrick Harmon on injured reserve

The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed second-year defensive tackle Derrick Harmon on injured reserve following a foot injury sustained during a recent loss to Cleveland. Harmon, a 2025 first-round pick, is expected to miss at least four weeks.

Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham noted the difficulty of replacing Harmon’s recent performance and ascension within the unit. His absence will likely result in increased playing time for veteran Sebastian Joseph-Day and rookie Gabe Rubio.

In addition to the roster move on defense, the Steelers signed veteran cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting from the Tampa Bay practice squad. This follows the recent trade of Joey Porter Jr. to Dallas due to a contract impasse.
