Pittsburgh Steelers add former champion, claim tight end, and assess rookie injury
The Pittsburgh Steelers brought back two‑time Super Bowl champion wide receiver Cornell Powell for a tryout. Powell, a former Kansas City Chiefs player and UFL title holder, has previously spent time on practice squads and in the United Football League.
First‑round rookie offensive tackle Max Iheanachor left a training‑camp practice with an apparent shoulder or neck issue and was seen receiving attention from the team’s medical staff. In the same period, the Steelers claimed tight end Lance Mason off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks; Mason, a former Wisconsin Badger who went undrafted in 2026, joins a tight‑end group that includes Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington.
