Pittsburgh Steelers sign wide receiver Cornell Powell

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed wide receiver Cornell Powell to their training camp roster. Powell, a former Clemson standout and two-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, previously spent time on the Steelers' practice squad in late 2025.

Before rejoining the NFL, Powell played for the DC Defenders in the United Football League (UFL). During the 2026 season, he led the Defenders in receptions and receiving yards, helped the team win the UFL championship, and was named the 2026 UFL Sportsman of the Year.

In addition to signing Powell, the Steelers also signed wide receiver Isaiah Winstead. To accommodate these roster moves, the team waived wide receiver Colton Dowell and waived/injured offensive lineman Lorenzo Thompson.
