Pittsburgh Steelers UDFA prospects face low odds for roster spots

Analysts estimate that the Pittsburgh Steelers have the lowest likelihood among NFL teams of any undrafted free agent (UDFA) making the initial 53‑man roster, with a 42.8% chance that at least one of their eight UDFAs will survive final cuts. Tight end Lake McRee is rated the most likely UDFA at a 10.5% chance, while the other players—including Devan Boykin, Kevin Jobity Jr., Chamon Metayer, Daylan Carnell, Laith Marjan, Greg Crippen and Tamon Lynum—each have odds ranging from roughly 2.7% to 7.6%.

In addition to the UDFA analysis, coaches and scouts are watching three fringe players for breakout performances during offseason OTAs: wide receiver A.T. Perry, a 6‑foot‑5 red‑zone target; offensive tackle Lorenzo Thompson, a potential backup swing tackle; and defensive tackle Gabriel Rubio, a power‑run stopper who could see early snaps if a veteran retires. Their development could provide depth for the Steelers as they aim to improve on recent mediocrity.
