Pittsburgh Walk of Fame selects 2026 honorees

The Pittsburgh Walk of Fame announced its 2026 inductees, a group of ten notable figures from arts, sports and industry. The honorees include sportscaster Myron Cope, dancer Martha Graham, photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris, former Steelers player Franco Harris, entrepreneur H.J. Heinz, actress and singer Shirley Jones, Penguins owner Mario Lemieux, composer Henry Mancini, actor James Stewart and inventor George Westinghouse.

Each name will appear on a large bronze star embedded in the sidewalk of the Strip District Terminal on Smallman Street, accompanied by a short plaque and a digital app with more information. The selection was made by a committee of about 150 leaders from local colleges, cultural institutions and community groups after a public nomination process. The induction ceremony is set for Oct. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at The Terminal, with Mario Lemieux scheduled to attend.

“Everyone involved in creating this visitor attraction is delighted with the choice of these 10 honorees,” said Nancy Polinsky Johnson, founder and executive director of the nonprofit Pittsburgh Walk of Fame.
