Piumhi authorities rescue eleven dogs from animal abuse

Authorities in Piumhi, Minas Gerais, rescued eleven dogs from abusive conditions following an anonymous report. The rescue operation, conducted under judicial order, involved the Military Police, Health Surveillance, and municipal kennel professionals.

Inspectors found the animals living in an unsanitary environment characterized by excessive waste, filth, and pest infestations. Veterinary assessments confirmed that the dogs suffered from parasite infestations, severe dermatitis, and various injuries, including one dog with a leg injury that hindered movement.

The rescued animals were taken to the Piumhi Street Animal Shelter (Caar) for veterinary treatment, while one dog in better condition was transferred to a relative of the owner.
