Piura expands free healthcare services and dengue vaccination
Health initiatives are expanding in the Piura region of Peru to improve medical access and disease prevention. In the Sapillica district, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) is launching a mobile medical campaign on October 14 and 15. This initiative provides free specialized consultations in areas such as pediatrics, cardiology, gynecology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. The service is available to both those with health insurance and those without, requiring only a national identity document (DNI). The campaign also includes immunization services and screenings for HIV and syphilis.
Additionally, a new free dengue vaccination site has been established in Piura for individuals aged 10 to 20. Operated through a partnership between Pacífico, SANNA, and Diresa Piura, the vaccination point is located at the SANNA Clínica Belén parking lot. The facility operates daily for 12 hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This effort aims to strengthen prevention measures in anticipation of potential health risks associated with the El Niño phenomenon.
