Pix and Military Police emerge as rare consensus points in polarized Brazil
A Genial/Quaest survey reveals that the Pix instant payment system and the Military Police (PM) serve as rare points of consensus in a politically polarized Brazil. Approximately 80% of Brazilians express trust in Pix, a figure that remains high across various ideological spectrums, including non-Bolsonarista right-wingers (87%) and non-Lulista left-wingers (88%).
Similarly, the Military Police maintain high trust levels, with 85% confidence among non-Bolsonarista right-wingers and 75% among non-Lulista left-wingers. In contrast, political institutions such as political parties, Congress, the Presidency, the Supreme Federal Court (STF), and electronic voting machines show higher levels of polarization and distrust.
