Toy Story 5 hits theaters as classic toys battle digital tablets

The fifth installment of Pixar’s Toy Story franchise arrives seven years after the previous film. Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the toy gang confront a brand‑new tablet called Lilypad that threatens to replace them in the attention of child Bonnie. Director Oscar‑winner Andrew Stanton returns to helm the adventure, with comedy actors Michael Bully Herbig, Rick Kavanian and others providing voices for the characters.

A Family Fun Friday event on 24 July at 16:00 will showcase the movie at several Cineplexx locations in Austria, offering ticket giveaways for the Donau Zentrum, Linz, Graz and Villach venues.

The film explores how traditional toys can retain relevance in a world increasingly dominated by screens and digital devices.
