Pixbet owner expands political influence in Paraíba

Ernildo Junior, owner of the betting company Pixbet, is expanding his political influence in Paraíba ahead of the 2026 elections. Pixbet is currently under investigation by the Federal Police for suspected money laundering and foreign exchange evasion.

Junior has moved from supporting local candidates in 2024 to backing major figures for the 2026 cycle. His endorsements include MDB candidate Cícero Lucena for the state government and Nabor Wanderley, the father of House Speaker Hugo Motta.

Beyond direct political endorsements, Junior has established a significant regional presence through sports and local infrastructure. He is a master sponsor for Flamengo and has invested heavily in regional football and vaquejada parks, using these platforms to attract political and business leaders to the Cariri region.
