Pixela launches PIX-MT200e USB LTE dongle on Makuake
Pixela has launched a pre-sale campaign on the crowdfunding platform Makuake for its latest high-end LTE-compatible SIM-free USB dongle, the PIX-MT200e. The device is designed to create an instant internet environment by plugging it into a PC or a USB power outlet.
The PIX-MT200e features a dual-SIM capability, supporting both physical nanoSIMs and eSIMs, which allows for the rapid setup of backup communication lines. It is compatible with the platinum bands of Japan's four major mobile carriers. Compared to its predecessor, the PIX-MT110, the new model has been reduced in volume by approximately 75% and utilizes a USB Type-C interface.
Designed without an internal battery, the device relies solely on USB power, eliminating the need for charging management and reducing risks associated with lithium-ion battery expansion or fire. The dongle can function as a Wi-Fi router, supporting simultaneous connections for up to 16 devices. The Makuake project is scheduled to run until October 14, 2026, with general retail pricing expected to be 19,800 yen.
