PixelBoard brings Rambler AI voice typing to non-Pixel Android devices

Developer Akshay Kadam has released PixelBoard, an unofficial modification that brings Google’s Rambler AI voice typing feature to Android devices outside the Pixel 11 lineup. Rambler, which is integrated into Gboard and powered by Gemini, differs from traditional dictation by using AI to transform spoken thoughts into structured text. Instead of a verbatim transcript, it removes filler words, corrects grammar, and improves formatting to produce a polished written result.

PixelBoard works by modifying the official Gboard application, allowing users to access these features without requiring root access. The project includes additional capabilities such as proofreading and tone rewriting directly within the keyboard.

Installation requires sideloading the application, and compatibility is specific to certain requirements, including Android 10 through Android 16 Preview and arm64-v8a architecture. While testing has shown success on devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, users are advised to proceed with caution as it is not an official Google release.
