Pixxel raises $100 million in India's largest spacetech funding round

Indian space technology startup Pixxel has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round, marking the largest single funding round for a space technology company in India. The round was co-led by Singaporean state investor Temasek and British space-technology venture firm Seraphim. Other participants included new investors 360 ONE Asset and IMM Investment, alongside existing backers such as Radical Ventures and growX Ventures.

The Bengaluru-based company, which is backed by Google, has now reached a total of $195 million in funding. Pixxel specializes in hyperspectral satellites and Earth intelligence software known as Aurora. The company intends to use the new capital to expand its sensing capabilities through the Honeybee satellite constellation, develop high-resolution optical imaging satellites, and increase production at its Gigapixxel manufacturing facility, which is capable of producing up to 40 satellites annually.
