Piyush Goyal criticizes Rahul Gandhi over President Murmu meeting

Indian Union Minister Piyush Goyal and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have criticized Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi following his meeting with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Goyal accused Gandhi of displaying arrogance and disrespect toward constitutional authorities. He claimed that Gandhi’s representation regarding alleged electoral irregularities lacked necessary data, facts, or evidence. Goyal noted that because no proof was provided, the President requested that the Opposition provide the necessary evidence to substantiate their claims.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra further criticized Gandhi, labeling him an “incompetent leader” and accusing him of attempting to involve the President in street protests. Gandhi had previously stated that the President requested evidence to support allegations of ‘vote chori’ (vote theft) following a meeting involving the INDIA bloc delegation.
