Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a series of high-level meetings with major American corporations during his visit to the United States to promote investment and strengthen business ties with India.
In the technology and financial sectors, Goyal met with executives from IBM to discuss AI, cloud infrastructure, and quantum computing. Investment firms including Blackstone, General Atlantic, and Neuberger Berman also engaged in talks regarding deepening capital linkages and wealth management partnerships.
On the manufacturing and consumer front, Goyal met with leadership from Nike to discuss expanding manufacturing capabilities, local sourcing, and employment opportunities in India. Other meetings included discussions with Target regarding retail presence, Mondelez International on manufacturing and procurement, and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) on expanding its footprint. Goyal noted that India is planning to send a large multi-sectoral business delegation to the US in the first quarter of next year to further these commercial ties.
