Piyush Goyal assures Indian diaspora in US of India's support
Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal addressed the Indian diaspora in the Chicago area, stating that India will stand by its citizens regardless of where they face difficulty or distress globally. Citing previous crises in Yemen and Ukraine, Goyal emphasized that the Indian government remains committed to the safety and support of its people abroad.
Speaking at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Sculpture in Skokie, Illinois, on Gandhi Jayanti, Goyal described the Indian-American community as a ‘living bridge’ and ‘ambassadors’ between the two democracies. He encouraged the diaspora to serve their adopted country, the United States, with honesty and commitment while maintaining an emotional connection to their motherland.
