Piyush Goyal presents Sanganeri shawl at BRICS trade meeting in Jaipur

India’s commerce minister Piyush Goyal used the BRICS India 2026 trade and industry ministers’ meeting in Jaipur to highlight the country’s handloom heritage. On National Handloom Day he gifted handcrafted Sanganeri shawls to the visiting delegations, underscoring the "Vocal for Local" push to support Rajasthan’s artisans.

During the same summit Goyal held separate bilateral talks with Brazil’s Development, Industry, Trade and Services Minister Mario Fernando Elias Rosa and Egypt’s Industry Minister Khalid Hashem Ali Maher. The discussions focused on deepening trade, investment and cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, energy and pharmaceuticals, aiming to strengthen economic ties among the three nations within the BRICS framework.
