PKO Bank Polski expands international corporate banking presence

PKO Bank Polski is accelerating its international expansion strategy, focusing primarily on the corporate sector. Building on over a decade of experience in Germany and several years in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the bank has recently expanded into Romania and established representative offices in Sweden, Austria, and Lithuania.

Over the next three years, the bank aims to increase its total number of foreign branches and offices to thirteen. Preparations are currently underway to launch four new branches in major Western European markets, specifically France, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. The bank is also analyzing the Hungarian market for potential entry.

The expansion strategy prioritizes following Polish corporate clients who are increasingly operating across borders, including those investing, building factories, or acquiring local competitors. Additionally, the bank intends to gradually build relationships with local businesses in these markets by leveraging its capital strength and expertise.
