PKS leader Almuzzammil Yusuf begins South Sumatra political safari

President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Almuzzammil Yusuf (AMY), will visit South Sumatra (Sumsel) on 9‑10 August 2026 as part of a national “safari” tour. Party spokesperson Rangga Kusumo said the trip aims to hear citizens’ aspirations, strengthen ties with community, religious and academic leaders, and showcase PKS’s presence across the archipelago. Sumatra Selatan was chosen for its historic legacy of the Srivijaya empire and its reputation for strong religious, cultural and communal values.

During the visit AMY is scheduled to meet local officials, hold a dialogue forum with scholars and civil society, attend a mini‑soccer event, and pray at Masjid Al‑Islam Muhammad Cheng Hoo in Palembang. The itinerary is presented as a blend of political outreach, cultural appreciation and youth‑focused activities ahead of Indonesia’s 81st independence anniversary.
