Placebo releases new single ‘Helen Keller’
British rock band Placebo has released a new single titled ‘Helen Keller’. The track is inspired by ‘H. K. Farewell’, an instrumental piano melody recorded during the sessions for their 1996 self-titled debut album.
While the original melody appeared as a hidden track on early editions of their debut, the band has reimagined it into a new, heavier rock composition. The single was recorded in London earlier this year and produced by Placebo alongside Adam Noble, who also handled the mixing.
The release coincides with the start of the band’s 30th-anniversary tour, which began in Porto, Portugal. The tour focuses on material from their first two albums, ‘Placebo’ and ‘Without You I’m Nothing’, featuring songs that have not been performed live in over two decades.
