Plan B Entertainment releases stills for film ‘Olmo and the Summer Stereo’

Plan B Entertainment, the production company led by Brad Pitt, has released new production stills for the coming-of-age film ‘Olmo and the Summer Stereo’. The film follows 14-year-old Olmo in 1979 New Mexico as he navigates family responsibilities, friendship, and first love during a single, transformative summer.

Directed by Fernando Eimbcke and Michel Franco, the film was showcased in the Panorama section of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. Critics have praised the work, with IndieWire calling it a ‘new masterpiece of coming-of-age cinema.’ The story centers on Olmo, played by Ivan Utapa, who must balance caring for his ailing father with his desire to attend a party with his childhood friend, Nina.

The production marks a new direction for Plan B, focusing on character-driven storytelling and personal narratives rather than large budgets or star-studded casts. The film utilizes nostalgic elements from the late 1970s, including vinyl records, roller skates, and a Ford Mustang, to evoke the atmosphere of the era.
