Plan Oriente allocates 30 billion pesos annually to social programs in Estado de México

The Plan Integral de la Zona Oriente in the State of Mexico allocates more than 30 billion pesos annually to social programs, targeting 1.19 million residents across 10 municipalities. This coordinated strategy between the federal government and the state government aims to benefit 10 million inhabitants in the eastern region, including Chalco, Chicoloapan, Chimalhuacán, Ecatepec, Ixtapaluca, Nezahualcóyotl, La Paz, Texcoco, Tlalnepantla, and Valle de Chalco.

The investment covers 121 programs and actions spanning infrastructure, education, health, welfare, and public security. Key beneficiaries include over 569,000 seniors receiving pensions, nearly 40,000 women through the Bienestar program, and approximately 48,000 people with disabilities. Additionally, the plan provides scholarships for 515,270 students and job training for thousands of young adults.

As part of the health and welfare initiatives, construction of seven Child Education and Care Centers (CECI) will begin. The first four centers, located in Valle de Chalco, Nezahualcóyotl, Tlalnepantla, and Chalco, are scheduled to start in September, with the remaining three in Chicoloapan, Ixtapaluca, and Texcoco starting in October. Each center is designed to serve 110 children aged 43 days to four years.
