Plan Uruguay Ve provides eye care to children in Durazno

The Plan Uruguay Ve initiative provided ophthalmological screenings to more than 100 children between the ages of 5 and 12 at the Hospital de Durazno. This visual health program, a joint effort by ASSE and BPS, utilized a mobile clinic bus to conduct examinations alongside regular hospital consultations.

Hospital officials estimate that this intervention will reduce the pending demand for pediatric ophthalmology in this age group by approximately 30%. Following these diagnostic sessions, children identified as needing corrective lenses will be eligible to access them free of charge.
