Planet Fitness posts Q2 sales rise, keeps outlook as investors boost holdings

Planet Fitness, Inc. reported a 7.1% increase in total revenue to $365.2 million for the second quarter, with same‑club sales up 1.7%. Net income rose to $67.1 million, or $0.87 per diluted share, and the company reaffirmed its full‑year sales guidance. The chain opened 23 new clubs, bringing its total to 2,930 locations, and announced the appointment of Sudhanshu Priyadarshi as chief financial officer and president of International.

During the same period, institutional investors increased their stakes in Planet Fitness. First Trust Advisors LP added 30,705 shares, raising its holding to 64,188 shares (0.08% of the company). Goldman Sachs Group also grew its position by 1.8%, now owning 1,389,098 shares. Other funds, including Empowered Funds, EverSource Wealth Advisors, Jump Financial, and the California Public Employees Retirement System, reported new or expanded positions. Analysts adjusted ratings and price targets, with Bank of America maintaining a neutral stance and UBS reiterating a buy rating.
