Planica unveils wooden statue for Nika Prevc
A wooden statue has been unveiled in Planica to commemorate Nika Prevc's world record ski flying jump of 242.5 meters achieved in March. The sculpture, crafted by artist Tadej Brglez using a chainsaw, was revealed alongside Planica Institute Director Franci Petek.
The statue is positioned near a similar wooden monument dedicated to her brother, Domen Prevc, who also holds a significant record at the site. During the unveiling, officials emphasized that the monument celebrates not only Prevc's individual achievement but also the progress and perseverance of women in ski jumping within Slovenia.
