Romania and Moldova face water supply cuts and a new treatment plant
In the Romanian city of Pitești, Apă Canal 2000 SA will interrupt tap water on 25 June 2026 between 09:00‑15:00 to install a branch for Kindergarten No. 19, affecting residents on Oituz Street and nearby blocks.
RAJA SA in Dumbrăveni, Constanța County, will cut water on 30 June 2026 from 08:00‑20:00 while carrying out reservoir works under a 52 million‑lei POIM project. Users are urged to store water and warned that water may appear turbid after the restart.
The town of Ștefănești (Argeș County) has obtained environmental approval to design and build two public fountains in the Golești and Izvorani areas; the projects do not require an environmental impact assessment.
In Edineț, north‑west Moldova, a new water‑treatment plant financed by the European Union was inaugurated, providing treated drinking water to more than 25 000 inhabitants of Edineț and Cupcini and enabling future network expansion.
