Planning approvals granted for building reuses in Bath and Narberth
In Batheaston, Bath & North East Somerset Council has approved plans to convert the former Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd into a day nursery and office space. The mid-1960s Brutalist building, designed by architect Martin Fisher, will be preserved rather than demolished. The redevelopment will feature The Lookout Day Nursery on the ground floor, capable of accommodating up to 75 children, and office space on the lower ground level.
In Narberth, Pembrokeshire planners approved a revised application to convert a retired architect’s former studio at Little Greenway into a long-term let. The new proposal replaces a previously refused scheme that had suggested short-term holiday letting. The applicants intend to use the annex as an additional long-term residential unit, which supporters noted would reduce discharges into the local sewerage network compared to previous proposals.
