Planserv healthcare coverage debated in Feira de Santana public hearing

A public hearing held at the Feira de Santana City Council addressed concerns regarding the coverage and service quality of Planserv, a health assistance manager for state public servants in Bahia. The meeting, proposed by Council President Marcos Lima, included participation from beneficiaries, civil servants, and consumer rights professionals.

Participants raised several grievances, including difficulties in scheduling appointments and exams, issues with procedure authorizations, and concerns over monthly deduction amounts from paychecks. Some attendees characterized the current state of the service as “sucateamento” (scrapping/deterioration) and called for management changes.

Councilman Marcos Lima noted that if the quality of Planserv continues to decline, it could lead to an increased burden on the Unified Health System (SUS) as beneficiaries seek public healthcare alternatives.
