Plastic Surgery Center clinics suspended over safety risks
The National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (LVV) has suspended healthcare services at two Plastic Surgery Center clinics located in Helsinki. The decision follows an inspection that revealed serious deficiencies endangering patient safety.
Key findings included issues with medication management, hygiene practices, and equipment maintenance. Specifically, inspectors noted that liposuction tools were being cleaned on-site in violation of manufacturer instructions. Additionally, an unauthorized medicinal substance was discovered at the facilities.
The suspension follows recent public scrutiny regarding the death of social media influencer Olivia Oras after a procedure at one of the clinics. This incident is part of a broader trend of regulatory actions in the aesthetic sector; LVV has suspended five different providers of aesthetic health services this year due to significant safety risks.
