Plastic Surgery Center facing scrutiny over incomplete patient records
Documents obtained from the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (LVV) reveal that complaints against the Plastic Surgery Center group could not be properly investigated due to incomplete patient records. The documents highlight long-standing issues involving clinics across Finland, with complaints spanning from 2023 to 2026.
Some complaints involve allegations of procedures being performed without patient consent. In one instance, a patient reported that a doctor performed a liposuction procedure differently than agreed upon, moving fat from the back to the sides instead of the abdomen. The patient stated they were conscious during part of the procedure but received no written documentation afterward. Valvira noted it could not reliably assess the appropriateness of the treatment because of the lack of documentation.
The company gained significant attention following the death of influencer Olivia Oras, who lost consciousness during anesthesia at a Helsinki clinic. Helsinki police are investigating the death as gross negligence, with suspicions directed toward medical professionals.
