Plastiras Lake: Tanker driver detained after near-collision with motorcyclist
A driver of a tanker truck has been brought to the Thessaloniki Traffic Police Directorate following a dangerous driving incident near Plastiras Lake. The incident, which was captured on a helmet camera by a 25-year-old motorcyclist, shows the heavy vehicle attempting an overtaking maneuver on a blind curve, entering the oncoming lane and nearly colliding with the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist, who was recording footage for his YouTube channel, managed to avoid a collision at the last moment. He stated that if he had been driving a car instead of a motorcycle, a head-on collision would have been unavoidable due to the lack of space on the road.
Authorities are pursuing a case against the tanker driver for dangerous driving under Article 290A of the Penal Code, in addition to violations of the Road Traffic Code.
