Plastitroque collects 2.6 tons of plastic in Coqueiro Seco

The second edition of the Plastitroque initiative in Coqueiro Seco collected 2.6 tons of plastic waste. The project, conceived by Braskem, was held at the Paulo Soares de Albuquerque Municipal School.

Participants exchanged collected plastic materials for social currency, which could be used to acquire essential items. The initiative provided approximately 200 families with various kits, including 200 non-perishable food kits, 230 school kits, 160 personal hygiene kits, 120 sports backpacks, and 150 squeezes. The collected waste was sent to the Cooperative of Recyclable Materials of Marechal Deodoro (COOPMAR).

The mobilization involved 20 volunteers who contributed approximately 270 hours to community awareness, waste collection, and exchange activities, promoting environmental education and the circular economy.
