Platak hosts Croatian Olympic Day for 2,000 participants

Approximately 2,000 people gathered at Platak to celebrate Croatian Olympic Day. The event was organized by the Primorsko-goranska County Sports Recreation Union ‘Sport za sve’ and various partners as part of the ‘Primorsko-goranska županija – European Region of Sport 2026’ program.

Following an opening address by Sonja Šišić, the head of the Department for Culture, Sport, and Technical Culture of Primorsko-goranska County, participants engaged in various activities. These included hiking, fitness sessions led by trainer Marija Mlinarić, and Nordic walking, which featured a specialized segment for people with disabilities.

Other recreational offerings included horseback riding, archery, cornhole, and equipment rentals through the ‘GSC Platak Open Door Day’ program. The Red Cross Society and the Institute of Public Health of Primorsko-goranska County also provided information and activities. The event concluded with music provided by DJ Tommy.
