Plateau State: Three Christians killed in Barkin Ladi attacks

A series of violent attacks in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria, has resulted in the deaths of at least three Christians over the past week. On Sunday morning, an unidentified man was shot and killed by suspected gunmen while traveling to a church service in Fann village.

This incident follows other recent violence in the region. On August 4, gunmen reportedly attacked the home of a Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) pastor in Kuk village, resulting in the death of the pastor’s son. Additionally, a man identified as Danladi was killed on August 5 in the Lukfai area. Local sources have identified the attackers as Fulani herdsmen.

Community leaders and residents have expressed growing fear and called for increased security. Rwang Tengwong, spokesperson for the Berom Youth Moulders, urged the Plateau State Government and security agencies to increase surveillance, conduct regular patrols, and ensure the perpetrators are prosecuted. As of the latest reports, security agencies have not issued an official statement regarding the recent killings.
